| This
rough map shows the area south of London where I'm based. If you
need to know the distance to a particular location, and approximately how
long it will take to get there, please email
the details.
Some travelling facts:
The city of Brighton & Hove is less than an hour
by train from London Victoria (you
can check the train times from anywhere to anywhere else), but
considerably more by car, depending on the time of day. The
nearest international airport to Brighton is Gatwick, which is about
40 minutes by car or train. Ferries to France leave from Newhaven,
Dover and Portsmouth. The Channel Tunnel is about two hours
away. Helicopters and light aircraft operate from Shoreham
and Goodwood (near Chichester). |
Take
a look at the weather outlook for this
area and the
rest of the UK.
It is possible to line feed material (on PAL 625
Betacam SP, DVCPRO, DVCAM or mini-DV) from Brighton. The following
broadcasters all have such facilities, feeding to their regional newsrooms
and switched from there to anywhere else (subject to line bookings with
BBC or Meridian and availability).
